I was obsessed with the inherited version of “gypsies”—a romanticized, mystical figure passed down through generations. Jewelry layered on skin, skirts shimmering with coins and sequins, fabric moving like costume, like spellwork. Not mildly interested. Not just curious. Fully, unapologetically obsessed.
